Belt Hamstring Stretch

It's the end of a long day and all you want to do is plop your butt down in the La-Z-Boy and turn on the boob tube. We've got a better idea. Oh, you can still watch your favorite shows, but we suggest getting a good stretch while you're at it. Take a few minutes at the end of each day to ease tightness and soreness in your legs with hip.fit's Belt Hamstring Stretch.

Instructions:

Sit up straight, straighten one leg and engage both your quadricep and abdominal muscles. Try and lift your heel just barely off the ground while you lengthen your spine. Wrap a belt around the ball of your foot, fan and flex your toes toward your face. Gently lift your heel further from the floor pulling gently on the belt. Hold for 15 seconds then switch feet and repeat.
