Cobra Prone Press Up

Wake up on the wrong side of the bed? Tossing and turning all night and couldn't sleep? There is a good chance your back will be sore. Plus, most of us spend the majority of our day with our shoulders forward and hunched over (looking at you office goers). This stretch will help us get back to our more natural body alignment by stretching your chest and shoulders and strengthening your low back and glutes.


Lay face down on your bed or the ground. Place your hands palms down just outside your shoulders with your elbows pointing toward the ceiling. Begin the stretch by slowly pushing up with your arms like you are doing a push up, but keep everything from the waist down stationary. Keep pushing up until you gently lock your elbows at the top of the stretch. Hold the top position for 15 seconds. Make sure to puff your chest out and pull your shoulder blades together at the top of the stretch. Relax and repeat two more times.
