Prone Press Up
Back pain is one of the most common injuries in the world. Some back pain is related to damage to the intervertebral discs that provide a cushion between each of the vertebrae of our spine. When this is the case, one may experience localized back pain as well as pain that radiates down into one or both of the legs. This prone press-ups exercise can help reduce lower back pain and radiating pain into the legs by readjusting the position of those intervertebral discs.
Begin by laying flat on your stomach and your hands on the ground in front, close to your side, about in line with chest and shoulders. Use your arms, not your back, to press your chest up off the ground, extending your spine backward. Keep your hips flat on the ground throughout, they should not come up off the ground.
