Scapular Wall Slide
For all of those football fans in the hip.fit community, it's time to channel the inner-referee hiding inside you. The scapular wall slide exercise is aimed at improving shoulder mechanics and preventing those dreaded tricep bingo-wings. Touchdown!
Position yourself with your heels near the wall and your butt, back, shoulders and head flush with wall. Start with shoulders and elbows at 90 degrees. Now, slide your hands up the wall and make a "touchdown" sign with hands and elbows against the wall before returning to the starting position. You are working the muscles in your shoulder blades and upper back. Assist this exercise by keeping your abdominal muscles tight and trunk against the wall. Perform this 10-15 times, repeat for 3 sets.
