Flamingos are known for their impeccable balance, beauty and graceful movements- just like you! We've named this strength exercise after the elegant flamingo because it is designed to help you assess your ability to balance and develop the body's center of gravity by engaging both upper and lower body mechanisms.
The Flamingo exercise is widely interpreted; practiced free-standing, against a wall, in the pool, on slightly elevated surfaces and with or without dumbbells. Straighten the right leg, locked at the knee; tuck and align your pelvis with your spine. The toes of your left foot will be barely touching the floor for stability. Maintain your balance and lift your left foot two inches off the floor. Hold this position for 15 seconds. Repeat on the opposite side.
